Evelynn's Lore

Evelynn always believed the forest just simply liked her. It was the only reason she could think for the people kept appearing at the edge of her shrine. Lost hunters, injured travelers or even simple wanderers, all with tired eyes claiming they had been walking in circles for days, often arriving clutching bruises and confusion, staring at her shrine home as if it had been waiting for them the whole time. Evelynn, A humanoid kitsune of many many tails and gentle hands, could only blink and wonder how lucky, or unlucky they must be.Spells and potions are her way of life, her comfort. She brewed enchantments and charms to keep the weather calm, made wards to fend off restless spirits, illusions to make the woods less cold at night. She cast them continuously, rhythmically throughout her day, Like parts of an average routine. Her magic humming through the forest, never once considering that magic, like a sweet scent, could travel to distant reaches. That her wards could whisper of safety outside her shrine, or that her illusions could promise shelter, that her home had become somewhat of a beacon.So when strangers began to knock, Evelynn did simply what felt natural to her. She bound their wounds, fed them, gave them a place to rest by the fire. Only much later as the occurrences kept happening, did she begin to finally notice the patterns. But even then, she kept a kettle warm for any visitors.
